When buying pants to be worn when carrying, how many sizes do you increase the waist?
For IWB or OWB carry?
OWB is the same size as normal
+2" for IWB medium frame gun, +2" more if your gonna IWB a spare mag.
Ugh... IWB mags.
I would go 2in when I IWB'd.
I wear 30's, I buy 32's. I like the Atlantco Tru-Spec 24/7 pants. I know they are all tacti-whatever, but they let me carry all my stuff and have expandable waists (about 1-2 sizes). I get the ripstop poly/cotton blend. Before these pants I was tearing up my khakis at work. Since buying them, I haven't had one snag or tear.
I jumped up 2 sizes (2 inches) and you may also want to consider a "relaxed fit" if you really want them to be comfortable. Relaxed fit won't make you sexy, but sure make IWB comfortable.
Depends on brand for me, but for most it runs the next size up
I have Dockers that have a stretchy expandable waistline. My regular jeans are always a little big anyway, just enough for that extra space needed.
Add two inches for IWB.
Thanks. I was thinking 2 inch increase in the waist. I already wear relaxed fit. Can't stand tight fitting pants. I am not a slim guy so comfort is paramount. I also know it depends on the gun and holster. The Kimber will require less than a Glock or the like.
I am going to have to check into the Rip stop pants.
+2" for IWB carry of a XD45...works perfect for me.
2 inches 1 size.
Waist 34, but buy 36 for IW Carry.
I wear size 36 and buy size 38
None for me. I really wear a 37 but they are hard to get so I wear 38's and it works out well for me.
