Has anyone had occasion to compare shooting a VP9 to a VP40 fitted with a 9mm conversion barrel?

I love my VP40 but had considered the VP9 that people who own seem to love. Now that a few companies make aftermarket drop in barrels converting the 40 to a 9mm I'm considering getting one (when they are not all sold out) but will I have the equivalent of a VP9 if/when I do?

I would appreciate you all sharing any experiences along these lines.

I have both VP9 and VP40. The slide is thicker and a bit heavier on the VP40 so could even shoot better! All of mine run flawlessly. My VP40 is converted to .357 Sig which is my favorite caliber. I have also done this with a couple P30/.40’s which are now .357 Sig. I get the drop in conversion barrels from Rim Country Manufacturing and have been well pleased with their quality.

I have conversion barrels for Glock (G22 40 to 9) as well as HK (P2000 40 to 357 and USPc upper to convert 9 to 40). For your VP all you need is the barrel change and you’re all set with a 2-in-1 pistol. As noted in the video, you can even use the same mags (Glock is the same way). For EDC defensive carry I’d go with the proper mags, but nice to know it works.

Hey, Parausa, thanks for that info! I like Rim Country Mfg products and have found Cust Service to be very helpful on call in's. Im inclined to go for it. I noticed the beefier slide on the VP40 when I was making the purchas decision. Thanks!

No VP40 for me but I’d imagine the mags would be the same size. Can’t load 9mm in 40 mags and 40 in 9mm mags. If it’s like converting glocks then they should work. No first hand experience
