I used to be able to defrag the drive. Then I tried to increase the speed of vista by turning certain features off acording to a commonly found guide all over the net. Now things run as good as before or beter but I can not defrag the drive.

I try to defrag the drive but nothign happens, it does not even open a dialog box, nothing.

MY drive is almost certianly highly fragmented as it has been like this for some time. My system is starting to go to crap and I want to try defragging the drive, but can't.

    Ideas?

Thanks for the help. I swear to God, I hate vista so bad. My next computer will be a Mac-Mini.

Hey Ted next time just turn off the drive indexing service and make the virtual memory paging file equal sizes for initial and max...

You could always try command line... or did you?

Just make sure you have elevated privileges... Right click command line icon to get it....
