Bill in Congress to Let Visitors to NYC Walk Around with Concealed Guns Concerns NYPD Commissioner

    http://www.ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs...oncealed-guns-concerns-nypd-commissioner.html

But the thought of out-of-state visitors packing heat in the city makes NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill uneasy.

"Gun violence in New York City, it is low," he added.

"I don't think there is any reason for anybody to bring a gun into New York City," O'Neill said.

It's only a problem if they do stupid stuff. If that happens then they go to prison.

They don't get it. Gun haters are going to hate.

People with state issued CCW have gone through a background check AND PASSED! They are not the problem. Evil doers don't worry about paper work or gun laws.

State laws violating Constitution. I though that was a bad thing?

You suggesting slavery in Georgia is OK again so long as state law says so??

Reinstate stop and frisk and get the illegal guns off the street before you start complaining about legally carried ones.

Funny how virtually every other place in the U.S. has legal concealed carry without problems. And then there's Chicago.

That is what the constitution mandated at the time.

Crime is "low" in NYC. Not zero. That's why guns have a place with legal citizens.

Why is "mugging" the accepted norm in NYC, when most other cities it's considered antisocial criminal behavior and worth defending your self against.

I don't think they should have such tall buildings in Manhattan.
    It make's me uneasy.
If they fall in a hurricane, they could kill a lot more people than the ones inside.
Let's stick to an 8 story limit.
    For safety's sake.

Stick in the eye to places like NYC is the #1 reason I want National Reciprocity to pass. I already have reciprocity with like 40+ states but I would like to pick up Oregon and some eastern states like NY and NJ.

NYC probably is the #1 city in the country with out of towners carrying guns, though most are LE of some sort.

I can see his concerns, and I personally would be concerned if I were a tourist carrying. NYC has some of the weirdest gun laws in the US, starting with the Sullivan law.

I would be worried I could go to jail, simply because I didn't know I couldn't carry a semi auto on every other Wednesday while wearing brown slacks.

Remember, most criminals don't want victims fighting back, and they vote. Depending on which ward, sometimes multiple times and even after they are dead.

I bet some Congresspersons believe that the very tall buildings make Manhattan Island unstable and top heavy.

    It might tip over!

Since it's so safe, NYPD should stop carrying.
