Does one of the very early imported Glock 17s have any collector value?

How early is early, if I might politely ask.

Gun was announced and then purchased by a friend. If there is a website that one can match the serial number and a year I could try and get an exact date.

Funny! No have the box but has probably had 300 rounds fed into it. Last time fired probably 1981.

Well the EARLY ones would have been AA001, but AAA001 would have been about 1997. I'll give ya $100 delivered.

Yes, AK3XX is early. Maybe 5/86, in the box, no updated parts. No book, unfortunately.

So are you just screwing with us, or do you actually have an early edition needing a new home?

This thread should move to collectors forum.

The OP never claimed that it has three letters in the prefix. That was another poster making a joke.

Sounds like one of the gen 1’s that looks a lot like a Gen 2

What does that have to do with the OP's pistol?

FWIW, pistols with serial AK### were imported in February 1986.
Nope. The first Gen1 pistols were imported in January 1986 with serial AF###.

Glock pistols did not exist anywhere in 1981. Where are you getting such a tale?

Report the LETTERS in the serial and I can tell you its import date.
Congratulations. If the purpose of your uninformed post was to create chaos and confusion, you have succeeded.

G17 pistols with AAA###US serials were Gen2 pistols imported in March 1992. They did not require the "six part upgrade".

    That’s really funny.

I thought everyone would have seen the transparent satire.

I could have taken a moment to go to the on-line serial number roster of early US imports and posted something feasible.

Yes, I think I am in the wrong section. The numbers are not anything like what has been suggested by the responses so far. I need to find someone with deeper knowledge. Thanks for your suggestion.
