Doesn't sound like it's any cheaper than my current plan (for me) but they won't be subsidizing the phones anymore. Not a good deal. Same cost, only now I have to buy the phone?

If I can buy the phone and pay month to month I will finally get a cell phone. I don't want to be locked into a long term contract and I don't want to buy minutes. I want to pay for what I use and only that. So maybe they will get this troglodyte out of his hole. I love the Iphone I have at work and want one to fondle all the time.

Truth in pricing/cost is a good thing.

I think in the long run is will cost me more money although I haven't sat down and figured it out. Having to pay full retail price or there abouts for a phone will not make me a happy camper.

Can't see how this is much different than the Edge plan they have now.

Nothing at lease for now. Our changes will happen when we want a new phone.

I am up for an upgrade and renew of 2 yr contract....I want a Samsung edge..$799 phone...$399 if I do the 2 year contract...They wont negotiate..(I'm a long time customer)....Now I see I have so much time "August 13" to make the decision... so.... If I don't ...I guess my monthly bill goes down? paying close to $100/mo now....Have a HTC 4G

Unless.it doesn't last. If they don't offer some bait with the phone, people are going to stop turning over as often. Which means sales on phones are gonna drop. Then the next hype will start.

I think at some point there are diminishing returns on features now becoming common.

Looks like it will be more expensive if you are one who gets a new phone every two years.

I like where Motorola is going with phones. Their new phone will be available direct, or at best buy and Amazon. It has every band for every carrier in the us. Buy one phone, use it on any network with any provider.

Every phone should be sold this way.

I doubt anything will change much for me. I buy a new iPhone every one comes out and pay cash for it because I don't want to loose my unlimited Verizon plan. I go through 50Gb some months. As soon as we hop in the car to go somewhere my 7 year old or my 4 year old yells, "Dad, turn on your wifi!" So they can stream stuff on their iPads.

Once, and I'm not kidding, my 2 year old asked me to turn on my wifi when we were driving because she couldn't watch a video on her iPad. And she can hardly talk yet.

I'm a high school teacher and I always turn on my wifi for my students to use because the school wifi is so slow and won't let them on social media sites. So almost every period if there is some time left at the end a kid asks me to turn on my wifi. Only the first 6 kids that try can get on it. Sometimes I make the password a math problem and put it on the board. The first 6 kids that solve the problem get on. But normally my password is "callmemaybe" which the kids always laugh about.

Oh yeah, Moxie and Lucky Strikes aren't the top of the market any more...
