Any plans to go to vBulletin 3?
That "hover the cursor over the subject line and see the first paragraph of the thread" feature is kinda nice.
But I don't know if it would actually SAVE me any time on a site; I'd probably read the first paragraph of darn near every thread... ;g
I agree. I'd really, really love to have that feature here.
That sounds like a neat feature.
I was wondering if you've ever considered turning on the feature that indicates the number of posts a person has made beneath their name on each post. This appears with the "Registered" and "Location" blurbs. It's interesting to see posters' post volumes as one reads through the threads.
I frequent a couple of other vBulletin sites, and they use this. They're both, 2.2.8, and you're already running a later version.
It used to be "on"; IIRC, Eric, the site owner/operator, turned it off in response to some folks who became overly concerned with boosting their post counts (some sort of status symbol).
The info is still available if you click on the poster's profile link/button at the bottom of each posting box.
Count this as a strong second for the feature that lets you preview a thread by holding the cursor over the title. Helps a lot with short or generic thread titles.
I am in the process of developing a new version of the site using the 3.x version of vBulletin. Transitioning from the 2.x design branch to the 3.x branch is a huge pain in the butt on a large site though and it is taking some doing. I hope to have it ready to launch in a couple of weeks. Eric
Eric, when do you find time to breathe?
Thanks again for all the hard work!
