i was told by my friend that the vanguard series requires a special bullet.

looking at the weatherby sight i see that only a couple rounds are special

    ie .300 wby mag

but if it says .300 mag then its a standard round you buy to go hunting right?

I am 99% sure that if it is chambered for a 300 Mby. Mag then it will be properly stamped. If it is chambered for standard 300 Mag then it will be stamped as such.

Vanguard is their line that they chamber in calibers made by other companies. 270,30-6,7mm rem mag, etc..

Their other rifles are only available in Weatherby chamberings. I think Vanguard is all that does, I could be wrong.

Weatherby makes the Vanguard and Mark V rifles in "standard" and Weatherby magnum calibers.

Wish they made a Vanguard in .25-06. :(
