GT community :wavey:, I'd like to pick your brains for ideas and where you have gone for a good 3 day and/or week long vacation with the significant other.

depends on your budget, are you wanting to stay in the us? My favorite country to visit is Mexico, stay near the coast.

Fly, drive, ship, climb...........as long as it'll be fun

Budget depends on place, we will spend more for a better place. You pay for what you get.

Personally, I'd like to spend a week touring Savannah and Charleston.

Travel can be by any of the usual flight, drive, train, heck even horse back means

I'd say about $750 to $1000 for a 3 day and $2000 to $2500 for a week depends on whether we can get enough time off at the same time

Her parents are splitting the bill

Gee, the last time I went into that part of the world I had an entire unit with me and we were heavily armed and had gear/equipment/guns/tanks/jets/armored vehicles that arent exactly civilian legal. By the way if you havent guessed I was one of those men :wavey:

You hop over the mountains from Seattle and can find some nice B&B places with all kinds of hiking, biking, sking, rafting, lakes, you name it. Probably no more than a 4 or maybe 5 hour drive.

You also have some amazing coast, truly world class, within just a few short hours by road. Not sure what the diving is like this time of year, but some good places.

If you want to go farther, the sky is the limit I guess. You can go overseas, but for your budget I'd stay stateside and try to hit a place or two that you've always wanted to visit.

Thank you for your service, but I don't think for one minute you needed to explain yourself!

I was going to suggest a dude ranch in Montana we spent a week at but I checked their current rates nd its not within your budget, but I bet there are other ones that are. That was actually the only vacation I've ever come back from more rested than I went. We did do the Alaska cruise last year or so, and that was AMAZING and in your neck of the woods. Other than that, We've enjoyed a Bermuda cruise, Disneyworld (yes, I know), Israel (needs more than a week and spendy), club Med Sandpiper in Florida, resorts in the Shannendoah valey of Virginia (I'm sure there are plenty similar in the PAC. NW), Canada, and probably stuff I'm forgetting.

We are so lucky to live in such a large, varied country. I'm sure you can find something to suit any mood!
