Key theme quote: "The primary and core issue is the proliferation of guns and their too-easy access." Mostly a Bloomberg-based screed about revising the 2A and demonizing the NRA for the way they influence politicians. A mish-mash of illogic, non-sequiturs, and appeals to (former) authority by an admitted Fudd who can't understand the difference between the inanimate object and the actions to cause mayhem by the bad guy. Truly a breath-taking example of a flag officer who appears to have never understood the central promise he was taking in his oath as a commissioned officer.

It's surprising how many military officers feel the same way.

So I guess all those guns in the navy just shot all the sailors in their bunks, yeah? Dangerous things those guns.

The left WILL use the military to institute marshal law and seize all the weapons in the country. There are plenty of military leftists who will stand up and gladly take control.

"I simply believe more guns contribute to more killing."

He's too dumb to even look at simple statistics apparently because his belief is totally incorrect.

The number of leftists in the military does not surprise me...it used to...but after a career in the Air Force and Air Guard...i'm not surprised...I used to hear some stuff from officers and NCOs that was kinda scary.

"As our nation progressed, we have amended, modified and abolished various parts of our Constitution. Today, the Second Amendment may deserve a review or updated laws to prevent its abuse."

Thanks General Dip-sheet. I suppose we can thank you and your ilk for our tremendous success in Afghanistan and Iraq. I was a E-5 deployed to Laos in '72. F-this asshat and his general****. Probably a big fan of Robert McNamara and his strategy that got ~58k killed in "Vietnam". Carry on asshat! You actually no less about the Constutution than military strategy. F-U! :steamed:

The media gives the ones that do a megaphone. And helps them if they seek political office.

Look at the strong men in charge every where. They have the military behind them. Military folks like stability.

Military Officers are meant to be apolitical. What this gentleman or any other Officer, active or non-active, believes is their prerogative.

However, when an active officer spews their opinions, the line has been crossed. Any active officer who crosses that line while active needs to be sanctioned and ignored. They are a danger to our Republic.

In this case, Admire is free to express his opinion in an unofficial capacity.

I thought that was the whole idea. Armed populous to quell tyranny.
Sadly, far too many .mil think this way.

Not enough of them, thankfully. For every military individual who would attempt to disarm us, there are three or more that are willing to uphold the Constitution they swore to defend who would stand against them.
He is an oathbreaker - a traitor. He fails to see that our government has become very powerful and horribly corrupt. It is only the government's fear of us that keeps them in check.

Actually, only politicians get birds. Churchill only got Lt. Col. in WWI.

Oathbreakerrs? I would not count on them. Our military is no longer filled with short term draftees. BUT professionals. Most of who are making ,out better than in the civilian world.Their instincts are to obey orders or they are quickly moved out and they lose their benefits?
