So if I were to be offered an MC Operator, with a little bit of wear on the rails from a poorly attached light (a few streaks through the Armory Kote), and a little bit on the left side safety, what would be a fair price? Not looking to get the deal of the century, but would definitely not like to be on the short end of the sale. I didn't notice anything else in terms of wear and doubt it has had many through the pipe.
This is an interesting prospect for me as I have not really ventured out of the world of polymer wonders, and feel the strong need (I feel like the adjective American describes the urge) to purchase a nice 1911 before the year closes out and I think the MC operator appeals to the inner tacticool mall ninja in me (I have some sort of urge to attach a light to every weapon I can, except those fun and cheap surplus rifles), while retaining a proper 1911 pedigree.

I think you would be well served with an MC Operator as a first 1911. I own/have owned six other 1911's and I'm very impressed with it for what it is. It is definitely the tightest, best finished, smoothest trigger I've had. I think it is a solid all round piece. Sure there is more expensive and nicer, but it's hard to find anything really negative to say about the MC. You can't go wrong. And that is a good price. I pad more for mine NIB but they're not easy to find most times and I certainly got a better price than some try to gouge for. I think it is well worth what they go for new, so at the $800-$900 price for used, almost new it's a steal.

And in case your still on the fence this might help!
