Hello:
My BIL is prepared to sell me a lightly used (27,000 miles) 2018 Lexus 450 Hybrid that he leased. He hasn't set a price yet but it will be around $32,000. I can sell my 2015 Mazda 3, 2.5 liter manual for around $13,500. The 450 hybrid has a 3.5 liter V-6 mated to the Lexus/Toyota CVT/battery motor assisted transmission. This transmission set-up is apparently similar to that used in the Toyota Prius except that the Lexus engine is much more powerful (250 + hp) and the car is about 1,500 pounds heavier than the Prius.
Has anyone owned or driven a hybrid Lexus from the 2016-2021 era? Are there any problems I should know about? Is the transmission reliable over the long term (e.g. 100,000+ miles)?
Thanks for any advice or input.
Chris
