    GT brothers,

I've read so many threads (on BOG) regarding best carry weapon or FA of choice as ccw. Has anyone experienced or knows anyone that actually put their CCW in action against any BGs?

Known friends have been lucky enough to still be alive and yet have been so close to pulling the trigger of their pistol already drawn towards the BG. It just didnt escalate to the next level but was a fine line.

Presence of mind and most importantly is knowing when to use it.

Practice, practice practice. Train, train train.

    A friend's , uncle's, 2nd cousin's roomate has put his ccw/ptc into good use
Unfortunatley for the other bastard , he didnt hesitate to pull the trigger
It's still unclear to me though if he was the defending or the offending party :)
FYI, manstopping +p golden saber my *****! nakatakbo pa e
But I learned a lot analyzing what happened

    Allegra,

I know of someone from the Labor Relations Commish (near
Santo Domingo Church in QC) who was hit 11 times with .45 ACP
(9 of them upper torso) JHP's, and still managed to flag down
a jeepney to take him to UDMC. He lived.

No such thing as a handgun caliber guaranteed to stop, so placement
is everything. This is why IPSC and competitive shooting is so
important in acountry where every rich wannabe can keep and bear.
Too many only think they can shoot ...until they try to
    measure up in competition.

Knowing when to shoot in a real world situation is perhaps
the rarest skill of all. Control of the context is everything.
Then again, if you have control of the context, you almost certainly
    won't have to shoot.

IMO, the bottom line is your perception and reading of the situation that your life or somebody you care for is in very imminent danger...Flick the safety off and shoot and answer the questions later. If you misread, then suffer the consequences which I think is the better option vis a vis the other party facing the music while you are looking up from under.

    38 spl , from a snubbie
Hit was slightly left of center , pero center mass pa rin if I remember correctly
Very close range , the other dude was attacking w/ a knife

OTOH, while paying for my confiscated drivers license at the cityhall :) I saw a jail escapee get shot by a guard on his butt w/ a 38spl also . He died

    Conclusion-

GoldenSabers + titanium snubbie = sucks
Rusty Armscor sikyo special + armscor ammo = Rules! :)

Contd....Under very stressful situations where you can feel the thumping of your heart and your stomach is almost cramping while your hand is quickly becoming a wet rag...it is very very hard to think logically or analytically, it's as if your mind is on standby mode while your eyes absorb or watch the events unfolding or escalating before you while gripping a 1911 in Condition 1

Whether the trigger is pulled or not depends upon the psyche(level/hot headedness) of the civilian without any training for such a situation. :steamed: :tempted:

Beware of the "magic wand" syndrome. When my friend shot an assassin while he was doing payroll in his farm, he ran after he shot the guy twice in the chest, even if he saw the target was already peeing and defacating after falling to the ground. He used 115 gr Silvertips (38 Super).

When I was still studying in Manila in the early 80's, a fight broke out at the Gallery Star at Mile Long. A person was shot several times at the back with a .25 ACP. He managed to run to the street to get a taxi to bring him to Makati Med. The police found him conscious at the emergency room of the hospital.

My friend's mom shot his dad with a .38 Super FMJ just between the shoulder and the chest. The 2nd round missed my friend's dad. He managed to run a couple of blocks. Funny thing is that instead of knocking at the gate of the house of his relatives, he knocked at the gate of his querida's house! They're still living together as husband and wife.

hey me scientific explanation yan... yung armscor 38's di ba 4incher yun, tapos FMJ pa bala = more penetration, tinamaan major artery nya, pero yung golden saber hindi designed for snubbies eh, me nilabas nga bagong bala ang speer especially for snubies, i just cant find one here sa atin, cguro di nag penetrate masyado yung golden saber, 1 1/2 inch lang ata barrel nang snubbie di ba?

aray , ako pa naman nag recomend ng gun/ammo combo hehe
1.5 to 2 inch barrel forgot w/c but that light gun was a @#$% to shoot
Malaks pa recoil sa 357 on an L frame

the only way we'll know if it's good as advertised is thru product testing :)

Yup , fave ko din taurus 85 na stainless , no mods I already liked the trigger kahit stock
It was so good na arbor agad
Used armscor fmjs , wala lang mura kasi
Havent tried a +p ammo on it
Pero +p sa titanium snubbie was very unpleasant
