Kinder, gentler secrete service; 9mm because they wouldn't want to hurt anybody.

Would kind of like to know what "logic" caused them to abandon 357 sig...

While Glock is a great choice this has me worried that the metal guns are going to slowly go away. Sig already discontinued the P239 and now the P229 is being replaced with plastic. It’s only a matter of time before we lose a lot of great firearms. The plastic is cheaper to produce and works just as good and in some cases better.

I guess my old school Sig226 9mm is still a keeper vs plastic! Also carry a G19, so agree that weight saving in a holster adds up. Both are great shooters, Sig is bigger to conceal, but can be done. LEO world dumping 40/357 cal for 9mm has to be a FBI thing and who knows in 3-4 years whats next? All three do the job if the shooter does his. Good luck. Im looking for Glocks in 40cal at a discount price!

During the last firearms evaluation they did the glock 9mm was actually recommended. Who ever they reported to ruled against it and the .357 sig was adopted.

I only know this from speaking to and going to training with the former head of their firearms division. He is retired now and runs the firearms training program for FLETC in Glynco

That's a good way to go. The 40 cal Glocks usually convert easily to 357sig with a barrel, 9mm with with barrel and mag. Because it's so easy, I actually keep the other barrel with my G22... I routinely swap barrels/ammo at the range between 40 S&W and 357 sig in my G22.

Glocks are like Tinker Toys for grownups...

Must be a conspiracy theory. The secret service doesn’t want to adequately protect Trump.

I like the quote from Doc Roberts...

“Compared to a 9mm, the .357 Sig has a decreased magazine capacity, more recoil, as well as greater muzzle blast and flash, yet at best it offers no gain in bullet penetration and expansion characteristics. What is the point of this cartridge?”

    From the OP's link:

I believe this is the first time in my life I've read an "expert" claim that .38 Special velocity and .357 Magnum (or .357sig) velocity are equivalent. But the source is ABC, a network whose employees regularly call a semi-automatic rifle "an assault weapon".
