I just overnight a pistol to an FFL via USP next day, friggin $70 bux, and tried to track this and got this message today

PKG DELAY-ADD'L SECURITY CHECK BY GOV'T OR OTHER AGENCY- BEYOND UPS CONTROL

Anyone every get this? I tried calling UPS and they couldnt tell me everything. Everything inside the package was fully disclosed. The package was sent to

    CALDWELLS PRACTICAL TACTICAL ARMS
185 MULBERRY ST BURGIN, KY 40310 USA

and when i was attempting to print out the shipping address UPS system had a hard time finding the address. and the teller told me several times to verify the address since their system could not locate it.

    someone please advise. thanks

Google Earth found the address... Appears to be a residential address.....with a LEO car in the driveway...

Also, if you key the phone number in Google for this FFL you're trying to ship to, it resolves to:
185 Mulberry St, Harrodsburg, KY 40330

Notice the different listing of the city... this might be the hold up...

But regardless of which address you put into Google Earth, it shows the same location.....

Don't go changing the address based on Google. Call the FFL for the address they have on the books, call the ATF to see if you can find any information, call UPS for a refund for overnight charges.

Agreed, I also worked for UPS for a year and never heard of such a delay, UPS does not inspect packages.

If you didn't verify that it was actually going to an FFL, you might be in big trouble. As far as the address thing, I have had that happen to me in the past. All it meant when it happened to me was that the address was not in the normal delivery route for them in that area. I think it just forces them to charge you a "rural" fee or something like that. The attendant just had to force it through in my case.

When I ship to a FFL, I use the FFL holder's name on the address instead of the name of the business. That way you are not putting names like "Bob's Gun Shop" or "Mickey's Tactical Warehouse" on the label.

I find that a bit disconcerning!

    Sounds fishy to me.

Even the name makes me suspicious. "Practical Tactical"

If its tactical, it probably isnt practical. Seems like the guy loves his "icals" too much.

Never trust Google Earth. They have I-70 running 3/4 mile from the real location in our city.

If the business you sent your gun to, is under investigation for something, UPS will at the request of LE cooperate with them. Not knowing more than what you posted, I hope its not a sign of trouble, and just a mix up.
