I was looking a upgrading my computer and I ran into a problem. The orginial primary 30GB HD is almost full. I wanted to keep in and put it in a new computer as a secondary HD. Is this possible?

is it a desktop or laptop if it is a desktop it can be done real easy

Many new motherboards don't have IDE ports so you may have to use an external enclosure.

30gigs? What is the processor speed on that system? I last had a 30gig hard drive on a 633mhz Pentium III...

Hopefully you'll have at least one IDE port on the new computer and can use it to get your data. I'd get my data off the drive, format the drive, and then have some fun w/ a hammer. What you'll spend on an IDE enclosure for it, you could buy an 80-120gig external drive, for not much more.

Most new computers nowdays, are gonna have at least 160-200gig hard drives.
