    Hello All,

I just wanted to take a moment and update the forum regarding my post from last month. “Major RUST in brand new GLOCK 17. (Gen 3)” (http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1187757)

The gun in question was returned on 2/24/10 using a prepaid FedEx shipping label provided by GLOCK.

Yesterday, 3/25/10, a package arrived from Glock, Inc. Per my request, I received a brand new G17 to replace the new gun I returned. The replacement pistol looks great and I’m sure I’ll get many years of good service out of it.

Kudos to GLOCK for following through on this and restoring my faith in the company. I’ve been a loyal GLOCK customer for many years now and will continue to purchase and recommend their products with confidence.

    THANKS GLOCK ! :wavey:

Good deal. Congrats. Well handled. Thanks for the update.

I read your other post. Funny how:
    1) Folks will fight to keep Glock on the "Perfection" pedestal and argue tooth-and-nail to do so.
    2) Folks dismiss cosmetic issues on other's gun they would not tolerate themselves.

Glock sent you a prepaid label? First time i have heard of them doing that. Truthfully, the shipping is one of the reasons the last 3 guns I have bought have been SW

    Wash-ar15,

The prepaid FedEx label was created by Glock and emailed to me. I printed it out, attached it to a shipping box I had on hand, and then called FedEx to schedule a pickup for the next day. Simple as that.

As a general rule, the customer is responsible for shipping the gun to them, and then they will cover the costs to get it back to you. That said, I was pretty firm in my initial contact (via fax) that I didn't think it would be in good faith for a customer to have to pay for $60 overnight shipping on a gun that had defects right out of the box. They seemed to agree in this case.

Someone once told me that the true test of a company's commitment to the customer is how the company attempts to repair/recover from a lapse in quality or service. Glock came through with flying colors IMHO on this one.
