First of all, I want to thank everyone who has prayed for my daughter. I believe in the power of prayer and God's healing hand. I doubt God liked alot of the things that I said to him the last few days. He probably also got tired of the begging to let me switch places with her.

Kimber got up this morning with her sense of taste restored and her arms and legs feeling normal. Good news as we headed for the highway.

Then we saw the Children's Neurologist at the children's hospital. She was a very nice, and caring young lady that seemed legitimately concerned about my daughter. After a almost hour long appointment here is the jist of it.

It is a tumor in her brain. It is in a common place for tumors. According to the radiologist the CT scan of the tumor is fatty tissue. It is benign and not cancerous. Some of the severe dizziness appears to be being caused by some inner ear issue. How the pediatrician didnt know this is beyond me.

She is going to have a MRI with and without contrast done in a couple months which should tell us more about the headaches and the tumor. But she said from the radiology report it doesn't look too serious. She is home tonight and resting with some new meds that should help resolve the dizziness.

So even though we still have some tests to go through, it looks as if everything is going to be ok. I believe that the outcome would have been different without all the prayers. Even though I sometimes don't agree with everyone here on everything Glocktalk still has some of the best people I have never met as members. Thank you all. God bless and keep praying. I know I will especially with the other tests coming up.

That's good news and I will continue to say prayers for her. Again, I'm just north of the Ohio river, if you need help with anything, just let me know.

Very glad to hear that it is nothing too serious and that she will be ok. Broke my heart to read your original thread, as I could tell how great of a person she is and how much she means to you. I don't pray often, I try to save them for when I need them. The day you posted the thread I prayed for her and your family.

That's good news, and a big relief. The past few days must have been awful for your family - I can't begin to imagine what terrible worries must have gone through your head. I send my best wishes to Kimber, and she will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

AWESOME news! So glad the Lord's shown Himself here in her situation. Will still be praying of course!

Don't take this next thing weirdly...it's regarding the dizziness. A month ago I laid down in bed and I completely lost total equilibrium. I got hit with the worst dizziness I've ever had (I don't get dizzy, btw). I literally thought I was having a stroke or something. I couldn't see.

Someone told my wife that we have crystals in our ears that can get out whack. Yes, I thought what a load of crap, but was told to Google: "epley method". I did. This is a super simple thing about basically putting those crystals back in place. Nothing weird. Just laying down and move your head as it says to do. It honestly worked and all dizziness went away.

PLEASE know, I'm not assuming this has anything to do with Kimber, and probably doesn't...but it could be? And there's nothing to the "fix". It takes like two or three minutes.

Don't mean to waste your time...

Everyone here is pulling for Kimber's health and comfort and some relief for your family.

Far less important than that......I'd be tempted to practice my rear naked choke skills in the peeds doc. who missed the ear issue.

Remember, as regards the pediatrician, is a reason they call it 'practicing medicine', as opposed to performing medicine.

At least you moved forward, got to a specialist, and got the problem diagnosed.

Today, we witness miracles performed daily, as a matter of course, and sometimes it numbs us to the fact they truly are miracles.

Not to cast a pall on some incredible good news, but lost the love of my life, when we were 17, to an aneurysm that was undiagnosed.

She had been experiencing extreme headaches, and the doctors thought they were just migraines, as she (and I) had the same symptoms, tunnel vision, tingling and numbness in various parts of the body, in stages, nausea and vomiting, followed up by light and sound sensitivity, then the headache that lasted days.

It was actually a bonding thing for us, as we understood exactly what the other one was going through, or at least thought we did.

She died on November 2, 1978, two days before her 18th birthday, from a massive cerebral hemorrhage due to a burst aneurysm that was only discovered at autopsy.

Today an MRI will show it within minutes, and the surgery to correct it takes only a little longer. My SIL was diagnosed with the same thing, and was in and out of surgery in 30 minutes, longest part was the going under and coming out of anesthesia.

I only post this to put into perspective, medical science has advanced exponentially in the past 30 years, and things that were death sentences back then are outpatient surgery today.

Thank God, for the blessings we receive, and His love and grace unto you, and yours.
