Delvon J. Crockett, Unlucky Burglar, Killed by Homeowner with Ornamental Sword

    By Pete Kotz

The 29-year-old man arrived home from work at his flat in Erie, Pennsylvania and immediately noticed something wrong. His dog was acting strangely, and he heard a noise coming from the apartment. So he grabbed an ornamental sword from the wall...

The unnamed man found an armed Delvon J. Crockett, 24, apparently trying to burglarize his house. So he stabbed him once in the chest with the sword, fled to another room, and called 911.

By the time police arrived, Crockett was dead on the floor near a door. They also recovered what appears to be Crockett's .380 automatic.

The homeowner wasn't injured, but he may have saved his own life. Crockett had a history of gun, drug and assault charges.

    Don't bring a mouse gun to a sword fight. :) :)

DANG. I normally open multiple windows (dial up) so I don't have to wait. I see someone already posted a similar comment.

There's a reason they still issue bayonets. Sometimes the only thing to do is to get it stuck in.

I'm sure Delvon was just a poor, disadvantaged yoot who was turning his life around. Aren't they always?

The evil, racist, unnamed homeowner should have just stabbed him in the leg or something... why did he have to kill him?

We can't allow people like this to take the law into their own hands. He should have just called 911 and waited for the police... to show up and draw a chalk outline around his body.

I'd be sure to use my cheap(er) swords for that, my nice one is more expensive than any of my guns except my AR.

What's up with swords nowadays...

Not too long ago, a Baltimore (Hopkins) med student sliced the intruder in half with his Hatori Hanzo... :wow:

Not a word about enjoying robbing people when they weren't home.

This is one video game he lost at.

    It's a gift... what can I say?

Not to make light of this incident... surely it's a tragedy for all involved... certainly for the deceased's family, and most assuredly for the homeowner who will live out the rest of his days knowing he has taken a life.

But the fact of the matter is, this... gentleman... broke into, and was in the process of robbing another person's home. He had a gun. He'd had run-ins with the law in the past for drug and firearms infractions. The outcome was a direct result of his actions and choices he made.. You reap what you sow, people.
