THATS THE WAY IT WAS, AND WE LIKED IT!!!!
I saw a "Make America Green Again" bumper sticker last week. And no, it wasn't an electric car.
Excellent response for the Greta lovers!!!!
That wasn't uncommon where I'm from back in the day. My 1st and 8th grade class was a two room school that had an outhouse; one for boys and one for girls. Had a water jug for drinking.
Back in the early '70s when I was home from college and knew everything, I made some comment at my parents dinner table about how much better all our food would be if it were all natural and that the best things were organic. My father brought me back to earth with, "So is horse***t".
Growing up in Miami, I had to walk to school barefoot in shorts with a machete. Had to hack through swamp and fight off gators and such.
Sometimes the skeeters would carry me off and drop me somewhere near the Everglades.
In the summer.
Uphill, both ways.
Oh and if that wasn't terrifying enough. There was...[:shudder:]... Florida man.
Alright, who am I kidding? There are no hills in South Florida.
Not natural 1s anyway.Who gave an 03 a map/compass.'08.
No need to go to such extremes.
Want to go green? Don't like plastic? Don't like batteries? Fine. Surrender your vibrators, ladies.
That'll put paid to the Green New Deal pronto.
All these holier-than-thou morons have absolutely no idea of the consequences of the things they promote. They are incapable of critical thought and reasoning.
No more travel, other than walking, no more electronics (TV/computers/tablets/smartphones), no more heat or A/C (both require pollution to achieve), no more electric lights (because even creating solar panels or wind mills is horribly polluting), no more meat or fish or vegetables (unless one is willing to raise and slaughter for meat, fish for seafood, or spend endless days in the field plowing by hand, seeding, watering, and picking their vegetables), no more trendy shoes or sneakers (only basic sandals made of natural materials) or synthetic fabric for clothes (all are horribly polluting).
90% of them would give up and die within the first year of life under those conditions.
For years I’ve been changing my oil in the front yard with no oil pan. Just letting it go back into the earth.
That’s how I’m going green.
Well let me give a big "Hell Ya"!!! WTG!!! Thanks for the story as I learned a lot about the environment and all the different effects that can happen to it both negative and positive. Later.
Well I grew up in the 50s in Rockford, Illinois. We lives in a small two bedroom house, my brother, sister and myself all slept in the same bedroom. My mom, washed clothes in the basement sink with a washboard, hung all the clothes to dry in the backyard. My dad shoveled coal from the bin into the furnace, and mowed the yard with a no-motor lawnmower.
Us kids all walked to school, except for on one of those super great "Snow Days" when we didn't have to go to school, but us kids had to help our mom shovel all that damn snow. That wasn't easy as our driveway led out to Highway 51(We were just inside the city so it was called 11th Street) and we had to wait for them to finish otherwise our driveway entrance would be covered up in one fell swoop and we have to shovel out again. Ahhh...those were the days. Sayonara.
Not enough for prison.
