Being a former tanker, I'm pretty well up on armor vehicles around the world - except for this one.

This is a pic of an Israeli vehicle, off an A.P. News story today. Does anyone have a clue what it is? It looks as though it started life as one thing, then morphed into a bizzare command vehicle.

According to one of my coworkers, it looks like a Merkava specially modified for policing the territories. he was formerly IDF, that's all he would tell me.....

The US military calls them Chariots (I'm assumeing Merkava means Chariot in hebrew) they are made by Isreal. I do believe they stopped making them when the US started selling them the Abrahms.
