I read voraciously. About a book a week since I was a very young child. I've read countless hundreds of books.

Unbroken is one of my all time favorites. It's one of the most well-written, well-researched, emotionally stirring books I've ever read. The fact that it's WW2 based is just a huge bonus.

It is a biography of Louis Zamperini. Freaking amazing story!

SPOILER ALERT, last warning :) Don't read farther if you are going to read the book :)

I had typed out the summary, but figured if you already read it, then you know the story. And if you hadn't read it, then why tell you too much :) But what I really want to know is, 47 days in a raft, and 2.5 years in Japanese prison camps. How, did he do it? Amazing story. Book leaves me still thinking about it, and of course questioning what I would have done in that situation.

Ever read Fly Boys? From the same author as Flags of Our Fathers?

That book really gave me good insight to Japanese and American history and culture related to the how and why of certain aspects of WWII.

I read it a few months ago. * Spoiler Alert * I cannot get the horrific imagery out of my mind, especially the killing of the duck by that perverted, deviant prison camp guard.

Suffice it to say, I would not have been as forgiving as Zamperini.

    Yes. I've read it.

A great book based on a true story. The guy in the book has unbelievable willpower. I had a hard time putting the book down at nights when I read it.

I didn't "read" it. Me and my wife listed to the book on CD while taking a 12hr car trip last year.

It was an awesome story with alot of emotion. Honestly dont know if I could have made it through the book though, it was a long gruelling story.

How did he survive? A combination of luck, will power and a physical constitution that accepted more physical trauma than most men can ever imagine.

Very good book. Borrowed it from the local library a while back. Picked up the audio version and am listening to it again now.

Its amazing that Zamperini and the others survived after all they went through. What the did on the raft to survive was eye opening.

Mild spoiler alert, I did get a laugh out of what he did in Berlin while he was there to race in the Olympics to get a souvenir.
