so, say you have the dough to buy an EMP.

but, im a sucker for a Glock 19, and i miss mine.

ive never shot an EMP. im just drawn to it.

i do have tons of time with the ol G19.

what would YOU do if you had the money in your pocket?

    Buy the EMP

    Or

Buy a Glock 19 and other neat toys

(fyi im also buying an AR next month so the extra cash might help there too)

    :dunno:

Buy the 19 and a 26 for when you want a sub-compact like the EMP.

I think the EMP is one sexy beast. If money is no object(as the EMP is 2X the Glock), I go 1911.

If it is intended for everyday carry go with the Glock, the EMP is to pretty to carry everday and have it get beat up.

I would buy the 19 and spend the rest of the money on a training class/ammo.

I had an EMP for a little while.

They ain't for everyone; and they ain't fer me.

Turns out that I'm not much of a single action fan, nor a fan of 1911-style pistols. (blasphemy, I know)

But that little EMP was probably the most accurate (in my hands) pistol that I've ever had the good fortune to fire.

And did you know that they're gorgeous?

So, if you want a work of art...try the EMP. You can always sell it.

If it's a carry gun I'd say go with the Glock. I have a 1911 and a Glock and end up almost never carrying the 1911 because of it's weight and multiple sharp edges and pointy parts.

The first issue isn't going to be a problem with the EMP but the other one is. Glock pistols have nicely rounded corners which means they don't really snag on clothing during a draw. Of course many people carry an EMP and have no issue but I like simplicity in my carry guns.

I'd probably go with the Glock and put that extra money towards the AR you mentioned. You can use the money saved for magazines and ammunition.

I thought I was the only one... Seriously, what is the EMP really good for? I love Glocks for what they are and I love 1911's, but a baby 1911 in 9 or .40 just doesn't have much appeal to me. If you like the 19, get one and enjoy all the ammo you can shoot with the left over dough.

Since I already have two glocks, if I had the extra money to buy one at a good price I would get an EMP. If I didn't own a glock and it was a choice between a G19 and a EMP, I would get the G19.

I have a EMP .40, and a G19. I would trade neither for the other, unless it was my only EDC piece. Then the edge would have to go to...G19. Unless you are really familiar with the 1911 platform, its not a good idea to switch between glock and single action auto, cocked and locked, for carry. Choose one or the other and practice, til operation is a reflex. IMHO.

My EMP out shoots most of my other pistols, accuracy wise. I'm glad I bought it, its a great gun.

My G19, ugly, blocky, but oh so easy to carry. And easy to shoot "good enough", if you know what I mean.

The EMP 9 has gotta be one of the best shooting guns out there period. I love mine, I gave up my G27 for it as I started gravitating toward carrying my G23 more often as an EDC.

The EMP out shoots every Glock I have owned, which number 10 or so over the years. It even groups better than alot of Commander or Fullsize 1911's of various calibers that I have personally shot side by side with it.

I like to carry the EMP every once in a while, but to be honest don't feel at any real disadvantage doing so. However Glocks are a very secure comfort zone for me.
I really like shooting my EMP though, purchased it with only 150 rounds down the pipe by the previous owner... I have over 1500 through it already.

    Have you every shot one?

I don't believe SA never made an EMP in .45 GAP. It wouldn't be an EMP if it was in .45 GAP, the EMP was designed around the size of a 9mm/.40 case. a 45 GAP would just be the same as the .45 ACP micro 1911 carrys.
