This question has been driving me nuts. Its more of a curiosity then any thing really useful. Let me start that the beginning. I have a firewall (IPCop 1.4.5) it has a static IP. I have a DMZ set up lets say 192.168.2.xxx. On that DMZ I have a web server. IPCop forwards port 80 to the web servers private IP. That all works wonderfully. I am wondering, what does it take to have a second web server? I know I can set up a virtual server but I was wondering about a second physical server. Once I get to multiple servers do I need multiple public IPs? I also see something about external aliases, does that have anything to do with what Im looking for? About the only thing I have been able to come up with is I think I can set up a virtual domain and have its index.html forward to another port. Is that a workable solution? Like I said Im a curious fellow. I appreciate any help. Simply a link to a sight explaining this would be wonderful. Thanks in advance.
