The mailman just brought me the last pieces to my puzzle. I just finished building her, now to get dies, powder and a red dot. This is my first AR pistol and 300 Blackout. Can't wait to go shoot her.

    Congrats on your new toy!

My first AR was a S&W M&P .300BLK that came with a Rock River 'Coyote' .223/5.56 upper as well. Got a lower for the RR upper and later built an AR10 .308 Win using Aero upper and lower and Ballistic Advantage barrel.

To be honest, I'm not sure why I've kept the .300BLK other than I have the reloading equipment for it, a fair amount of brass, bullets. General reluctance to sell guns, I guess.

OUT F...ing STANDING my brother' good looking job. They can be some finicky people, what recoil make up did you do. That's where you really have to baby them. Some guys say gassing issues. However I had no problems at all with my 10.5' and 8.5'.
    Lots of joy to ya.

I have one of the PSA 8.5" ones. Haven't had it long and haven't shot it much yet, maybe about 100rds. I've had some feeding issues, seems to not like full mags. I recently found some videos saying the gen 2 P-mags don't like 300BLK, which is what I've been using. There's a fix, filing down part of the inside of the mags. Haven't tried that yet. Don't know if I'm going to do that or just switch to different mags. Love the gun though.

I bought a couple of 300 Blackout pmags to try. They have the rib at the front of the magazine removed. Wish they would make it in a 20 rounder.

Carbine buffer and spring. I have a H2 buffer just in case as I’ve heard some people are running those.

I saw the same U-TUBE however I don't remember what Gen the mags were, but I use the same without ever having one problem, full half or otherwise. Now on a closed bolt a full won't lock in, on 556 either.

That's the same as me with the H-2 buffer in both of mine. never a problem. Using Tubbs springs.
There's a video at the end

Get a 20 rounder and file the rib down. The guys on the 300 Blackout forum says it works fine. Also, the only issue is with shooting the heavier bullets. The bullet ogive hits rhe rib and gets repositioned, not an issue with the smaller projectiles.

Thanks! I’ll have to give it a try. Since I don’t have a 30 caliber suppressor yet I’ll mainly be shooting 110 - 125 grain pills. 30 rounders aren’t my favorite when it comes to hunting or bench shooting. Plenty of fun otherwise :D

Well, I don't know I must be lucky or something. I have not had any problems what so ever with my Gen 2s. I have 30 (30 rounders) of them and after seeing the U-Tube about that problem I randomly selected 10 fully loaded, no problems. Using 115gr - 220 gr. Put the 300BO bands on because that's all they'll be used for. This is where I get my cal. bands, thick counter sunk colors. Here's one on my 10.5 BO

I have heard that. Got a PSA AR Pistol in 300BLK stainless 8.5 barrel. I've run Troy Mags in it and it hasn't had a hick up yet. Granted, Maybe I have 400rds down the pipe but I've been real happy with it. About to put a Shockwave Blade on it.

I just ordered a couple of these, and I have some other AR mags I'll try.

    https://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=MMAG800BLK&name=Magpul+PMAG®+30+AR+300+B+GEN+M3™.300+AAC+BLACKOUT+-+Black&groupid=1051

I also can't insert my mags with the bolt closed, hoping these will work. I think that's a mag thing, not a receiver thing, right?

I am not 100% sure but think I can insert a mag with the bolt closed with the Troy Mags. CDNN had a huge sale on FDE and those go in my AR rifles. I have about 6 black ones that go in my 300BLK and I also marked them with a Sharpie for 300blk. I saw the special PMag for 300blk and interested in what they mean by this - "Optimized internal geometry accommodates the wide variety of bullet profiles used in 300 Blackout cartridges"
I thought the 300blk round was developed specifically to be used with AR 5.56 mag and BCG?
Either way, I have about $500 for the lower and upper purchased separately and find it quite handy for a trunk gun.

If you watch the video in the link I posted it kind of explains it.

As I've stated earlier all I use are the Gen 2 and never a problem. Load bolt open. It's not a big deal. Why not use the bans for the mags The link is just above

Took her out today to break her in. Shot some Hornady 110 grain VMax and Remington 125 UMC. I ended up putting a Vortex Sparc on her.

Put her on paper at 25 yards and then moved to 75 yards. Was able to put four shots inside an inch during break in, no malfunctions with either ammo using Pmag 5.56 & 300 mags.

Finally received the 2 mags I ordered today. I can insert these with the bolt closed (WOHOO), hope to get to the range for a few minutes tomorrow to see if they fix the feeding issues. Also going to try an IWI mag, maybe a couple others.

A waste of money buy it's yours. Bottom line is that you're happy.
