Even if a company sells ammunition manufactured by someone else, it doesn't mean it's the same as the other ammunition made by that company. They might have their own specifications, their own quality controls. The manufacturer might use better components, or employ their better technicians and workers on those runs. Who knows? As was said, test it and stock up on what works.

The earliest "polymer" (ie., thin lacquer) coated black box Wolf was made at the Tula plant. I still have several cases. Latest lots I have are from '05. This stuff was: a) boxer primed, b) had non-ferrous projos, and c) was the most underpowered .223 I've ever used.

From a 20" A1 the 55 gr fmj black box poly barely averaged 2880 fps from a 20" A1. Wolf Mil Classic 55 gr fmj (ferrous projos) I had was good for 3120 fps. From 11.5" bbl the figures were 2480 fps and 2660 fps, respectively.

Ive had good luck with Tula, never a problem and no failures of any kind.

I wish I had a truck load of it right now.
