This, it’s way over a grand, but I riot at 1000 yards because I can.
Hmm, all of my preferred answers cost more than that.
I guess a 5.56 AR of some type would be in order, maybe a BCM upper and cheap lower plus a bunch of mags.
I'd just buy a bunch more 5.56 ammo and mags for our ARs and more pistol ammo for all the calibers we have.
"Winner" mindset. Tools are secondary.
The Del-Ton prices I quoted were pre-panic but honestly I'd want to go a little higher than that. Armalite was at around $650 new. That leaves ~$350 for the Glock. Of course a used Armalite would be cheaper but even a used DPMS with optic was ~$650.
Honestly not sure what the price on a used Glock was at the time so maybe......
So I guess it might work.
My Stamped Norinco AK.
Happy as hell I bought a Ruger 556 a year ago and a Burris 332 scope, combined less than $1000.
Even pre prices. You were over $400 for a Glock, over $450 for a AR. I want a half dozen mags for each. Glock mags $20+. AR mags @$15
So $65 for AR mags $80 for Glock mags (assuming two with pistol, one with AR) $145+ 850. You have $5 for ammo?
Let’s say guns $800 total, mags $100. So $100 ammo. You could get 150 rds 9mm 150 in 5.56? Can’t do much practice.
New PSA AR builds were $350-400. Used Ruger or S&W AR: about $400. Used G19: $350-400.
Ammo was not included - it was guns and accessories. If I have to include ammo, I don't need very much - by the time I use up all I have, then there should be plenty I can pick up off the ground.
870, smooth bore, rifle sights........and lots of ammo.
Just bought another AR a few days ago. This one was 499.00. Little DT Sport mod2. I'll upgrade the charging handle and throw a better BCG in and away we go! Sidearm? M&P 45 That usually sleeps beside me. Both weapons together were under 1000.00
Palmetto AR, home build. C Products mags.
LE trade in Glock 22.
Ammo for both
Mossberg 500 or a single shot break action 12ga
M&P Sport MOE and Vortex Strikefire ll. That puts me at around $850 precovid. Add in some mags, sling and a little ammo to make $1000.
More arrows (they're reusable). Lay low and wait until the bullets run out.
One grand for guns, all accessories and ammo to defend house and hearth from heathen bent upon rapine and pillage? That's a little tight so I'm going with budget guns on this.
1. Mossberg 500 or Maverick 88 depending on price and availability, keep it under $300.
2. Taurus G3, estimate around $300 real world pricing (comes with a spare mag IIRC) and a super cheap holster if I didn't already have one that would fit. I rounded up on the prices of the guns a little so I'm sliding the cheap holster into the $600 for the guns.
Put the balance (about $400) into ammo, split 50/50 between the two.
No mention of non-gun equipment in the original question, but I would want fire extinguishers, lots of fire extinguishers, scattered through the house. And my lawyer's number written on the back of my hand, for the post-riot phase.
Well, lets play: Moss 500, 18.5 in bbl, 12 ga. , Delton AR15, 10 mags @ 30rds each, Glock 19, 10-15 rds each. All stocked since 2013 the Obummer years. G19-3 owned since 2002, still rocks like new. $1000 to spend.... ammo to fit all. Have 5=50cal cans full for all weapons, and do have 3 Kabars USMC issue for shaving in the field. Guess i'm set! Good luck.
My 1989 870 Wingmaster - $329.00
Remington 18-1/2” barrel w/factory choke tubes - $119.00
Remington 2 shot extension - $31.00
G19 Gen3 - $279.00
Spend the remainder on ammo
Looks like SKS rifles are going for $900-$1100 nowdays.
Makes me sad that I sold the 2 I had that I bought for ~$60-$70 each. Plus the cans of 440 rounds for ~$100 or less.
