    I just saw this on Drudge, and really liked it. I assume this is in Israel. They've even named a park or something after him. Radical redirection from the previous idiot.

    Best thing going. Now, if they would ditch some of their baggage at gunpoint...

    That's alright, a commemorative is good enough, and better than they gave Hussein.

    Authorized by Congress in 1995.
    Delayed until a real President built it.

    So moving the embassy is significant to the average Israeli?

    Very much so! It highlights the fact that every single country gets to say which city is their Capital. They were the only country on earth denied that right.

    And on the 70th anniversary of the birth of the modern nation of Israel.

    I saw part of a speech President Trump made at a rally in Ohio (IIRC) a few days ago. He had been advised that building an embassy in Jerusalem would take 10 to 15 years and cost $1.5 billion. By using an existing building we already had, he got it done in a few months for under a million. I'm so thankful he is our President and has the courage to support Israel even in the face of opposition. Otherwise, the embassy in Jerusalem would have never happened.

    "I will bless those who bless you (Israel),
    And I will curse him who curses you;
    And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

    In the grand scheme of things, the USA is not going to go wrong in supporting Israel (the apple of God's eye). This is a happy day.

    President Trump continues to shatter the paradigm, long protected by a cabal of Establishment swamp-critters, that only career politicians and trained bureaucrats should be allowed the reins to the White House... :)

    A new building will still supplement this one, but we're going to make the Palestinians pay for it.

    I agree. :cheers:

    Trump did the wise thing. Politically, and fiscally. The consulate in Jerusalem was already there. Delegate which site can do what functions. Perhaps spend a bit (website updates, etc) to make that clear for those needing services and go to work.

    I am proud that an American President has finally cut off the waffling done by administrations spanning decades. I do wonder how it could take 10-15 years to make one building. Oh yeah, government involvement....

    Maybe President Trump can take the $221 million that Obama secretly tried to funnel to the Palestinians on the last day of his presidency (assets which President Trump subsequently froze) as payment toward the new building. :supergrin:
