Seems a good bargaining chip in his arsenal. They now know he's willing to talk to Taiwan too, if need be.

Not sure if it's a bargaining chip if he already agreed with China.

Trump could always change his stance. He has a proclivity for that.

Not sure, so what should we do with this information?

Some see it as a single move in a long chess game. Others believe this is the beginning of the end of all life on earth.

I prefer the calmer of the two.

Have you noticed how things that would have been minor issues are all huge crises that spell doom for is all.

Chucky Schumer is the new Baghdad Bob.

"Not sure" was my "calmer" way of saying he already threw the chip out. No word that he got any concession in return. If it turns out later that he did, good for him. If he didn't, why did he make this move after all the (perfectly legitimate) criticism he threw China's way during the campaign?

I don't care about Taiwan. I care about what is in the best interests for the USA.

Wonder if Trump is ok with "One China" policy being forcefully imposed? Like China has in mind................or if it is only the concept of a united China.
