For a Glock 17, are the Truglo TFO sights the best choice or are there better alternatives?
Make sure they have tritium. Those are IMHO the best general purpose sights money can buy.
Like them or hate them they are a 50/50 sight on this forum
i have TFOS on all of mine. great target acquistion in all enviroments.
iwosh you could get tfo for all gun makers and odles.
I think in theory they sound good. I really wanted to switch to them, but heard too many stories of the front vial falling out.
I have TFO's on two of my Glocks and one Springfield XD and really like them. I have never had any issues.
Wow, I had no idea.
Love mine on my glock
Have em on my very 1st Glock G23.... My front sight vial wanted to back out after a month. The shop superglued it back in and it's been fine since... I feel that Meprolights & Trijicons are better construction... But they suuuuuuuuure do pick up ambient light very well in daylight and dark!!! Other than that... They're ok
They are my favorite sights. I put them on all of my Glocks. I've shot thousands and thousands of rounds using these sights in many different Glocks, and I have once had a front sight fiber optic fall out. I called Truglo and they had a replacement to me in 3 days.
Here's the best deal I've ever found. $79.95 Free shipping and no tax.

I as well am interested in tfos on my edc 26, but I'm concerned that the Novak style rear sight will interfere with my kydex holster. I've also heard they rust easily due to sweat.
Another question I had was how tall the front sight is and if it will fit/ catch/ rub my current holster.
I've heard amazing things about the tfos for sight purposes but I'm concerned about their durability?
What is the cause, are the front sights defective?
Is it a design problem or just that the hardware comes loose?
I had TFOs on my XD, which I carried almost everyday for a long while. Never had any vial issues or any other problems with them. I haven't decided if I even want night sights on my G19, but if I do, I wouldn't hesitate to put TFOs on it.
My quick measurement here is 2/16" tall from the slide. I use OWB Blade-Tech SRB holsters, Raven Concealment, and the leather Galco's and the clearance on all of those are fine.
Great sights...had a set on my G30, but the front sight got caught on my Galco M7X holster the first (and last) time i popped it in....and we're not talking a slight snag either....after i pushed the gun in, i seriously thought i was going to have to cut the plastic holster to get the gun out lol...as i was inserting my gun, it was that same feeling that you get when you lock/shut your car door and notice that the keys are still inside, but you're already going through the motion so you can't stop lol....
took me like 15 minutes to get my gun out....
They are good in daylight and night, but they are sensitive to chemicals.
Ameriglo are far better and you can get the largest combinations, best price, best warranty, best customer support - they are on point.
Trijicon sucks as far as warranty and support. will find every loophole to not honor warranty. its a shame i have their ACOG on my AR and the REFLEX on my shotgun.
Thanks little joe that helps a lot
I really like the green/green meprolites i have on my guns right now for sd, practice and competition. When they dim out the 23 will get a set of xs big dots, and the 21 ameriglo operators.
im more of an XS big dot guy
