    The PKG_CONFIG_PATH is set by the kernel, with some help from the makefile, for use in making all the dependencies and symlinks line up. You don't want to monkey with it.

    Did you find the libgtkhtml-3.0.pc file? That's what it is asking for. Perhaps it is still packaged in a tarball or a .zip?

    Good luck,

    You may have the files, but did you install those via make; make install or did you install them via a package system (rpm, deb, etc)?

    Those guys are right, look for the .pc file but I'm betting you don't have it.

    Have you ever played with a configure file? You may want to alter it so it ignores that particular check but still links to the right .so file.

    i believe i found where it's checking, i can comment out those lines, but i'm not sure how to make it link to the right .so file.

    part i'd probably comment out
    Code:

            if $PKG_CONFIG --exists "libgnomeui-2.0 gtk+-2.0 libgtkhtml-3.0 gal-2.0 libxml-2.0 sword" ; then
                echo "$as_me:$LINENO: result: yes" >&5
    echo "${ECHO_T}yes" >&6
                succeeded=yes

    oh, and i installed using make

    Right. The config file only checks for stuff and creates the makefile from the checks. Make sure the makefile makes cleanly after you build the program and look for errors when trying to run it, that's all.

    I've not messed with .pc files, I either use rpm, pkgadd, or build from source without the package stuff.
