Beautiful day with the temp kissing the 50 degree mark, so I thought I'd try my new Rock Island Armory 1911A1. Here's a sample from my outing:

Really shot well, I was suprised & pleased. It shot better than my out of the box SA Mil-Spec.
Target was at 50ft. Ammo of choice was 5.5gr W231 pushing a 230gr Berry's Plated RN, 100 rounds without a hiccup. Then I tried Winchester SXZ45 Personal Protection 230gr JHP, failed to feed right out of the starting gate. Oh well, not suprised. It's a fine gun for the money.

I believe RIA recommends running regular ammo through it first. At least 500 rounds I think then try running JHP. Mine shoots anything I feed it. Congrats on your RIA by the way.

If it is truly 'mil spec' it will not like ammo other than 230g ball.
