treating hot spots

    Anyone have any experience treating 'hot spots' in dogs?

    Years ago I had a collie that got hot spots.
    After taking her to the vet a couple of times, we observed that all he did was shave off all the hair around the spot and put antibiotic ointment on. We bought a small clipper and carefully did the same thing!! Saved us a lot of money that way!! Wheat germ oil in the food helps too.

    I have had some luck changing the brand of food. Many dogs are allergic to common ingredients & a change of diet may help.

    Definitely change food. I feed www.solidgoldhealth.com .
    I have seen this food clear up hot spots within weeks.
