It seems like running on a track is more difficult than on a treadmill because you actually have to propel yourself forward. How much of an incline do you need on the treadmill it equal with running on a level track?
I was told at least 1 degree. That's what I set the treadmill on when I run. Honestly I don't feel a diff. between zero and 1 degree, but it's what the guy at the running store told me so I do it.
I find running on a treadmill harder. No air, no perceived motion, etc... make me get lack of motion sickness.
I have always been told that 2% covers wind resistance and the fact that you actually have to move foreword. It seems though, that different treadmill have a different 2%. Curious. I think road running is harder and better, but treadmills are way better than nothing.
treadmill = cars not wizzing by, if you live in the city. I like outside, but usually run indoors just for safety reasons
