OK I have Glockitis back again and decided to thin the herd. My LGs usually gives me good value on trades so I am going to go that route instead of newspaper adds, paperwork, etc. Looking to get a Glock 22 or 23 as I have some .40 stocked up. I have a red box factory refurb P226 in .40 & a Sp2022 in 9mm. Both are unfired. I also have 3 unused high caps for each but want to sell them seperate but do not know what a fair price for them. Dont want to sell at Gunbroker prices but dont want to give them away either. What would be a fair asking price on them.

    I just sold a P226 mag for $30 shipped. I don't know about SP2022 mags.

Sig clips new are about $45-$50 bucks. I'd say you can't go wrong with $30-$35 for those.

As far as the guns go, I'd just google around and see what people have them listed at. Also check out www.sigforum.com in their classified section to see what other Sig owners are selling them for just to get an idea.

The lesson I've learned since going to the dark side (Sig), the suckers hold their value, new or used.

Thanks guys for the help. Price on the mags sounds fair enough. I am also on the sigforum. I have a Sig 522 rifle and even though its a .22, it is a solid, reliable shooter.

I think that your prices are high. For instance, yesterday I bought 6 Mec-Gar Anti-Friction SIG 229 40/357 14rd Mag New for $37 each.

I would never sell off any of my Sig pistols to buy any Glock. I am not favorably impressed with Glock pistols.

You will regret selling the P226. Keep it. Sell the SP2022 and get a G19. Then you will have the best of both worlds.

It is your choice Nite Site but I agree with Wake Jumper. I have never had a 226 but I have two P229s and three 239s and will have Sigs until I die.

Thanks all. I have decided to scrub this idea and hang on to the Sigs. Last November I purchased a new Glock 19 Gen 4 so I am covered there. Thanks again.

    Say it ain't so Joe.

I like Glocks, but I love Sigs. Especially in .40. I'd atleast keep the P226, its a classic. Now is not a good time to be trading guns. Purchase new Glocks, but keep the Sigs and the magazines.

About 7 years ago, I did exactly what you were considering, and havent regretted it a bit. I still like SIG's, but I made out better selling most of them off and replacing them with Glocks. The biggest advantages there, has been cost of the guns, and cost of the mags. That, and the fact that I only buy 17 mags now, and they work in all the different models in that family. You could do that with some SIG's, but not across the board, and not at half (or even better with the Korean mags) the price the Glock mags are.

If you change your mind again, consider selling them on consignment at your local dealer. They usually take 10-15%, but they are motivated to get the most for your gun, as the more they get, the more they make. You almost always will get more selling them this way, than you will making a trade with the dealer.

Good decision. I sold my Glocks and went to Sig and never looked back.

I think Sig is better than Glock in any caliber.

The same thing that makes a BMW better than a Volkswagen, the fact that you can afford it. :)
