OK so I want to list my gun for trade but I am unsure how to do this legally. If I do a face to face trade what paperwork needs exchanged. If I ship on a trade I take it I have to find a FFL to receive my trade and the other party finds one to accept mine? And finally what is the cost about to ship firearms.

    Depends solely on your location.

In a free state, like Arizona, trading a firearm is akin to trading a pack of bubble gum, or a baseball card. It's just that simple.

In a restrictive state, one must go through a FFL to do this transfer.

    Where do you live?

Also, a FFL can ship via the USPS, while a private party must ship via common carrier.

UPS/FEDEX require next day shipping. In my experience, this is $50-$75. or more.

You can ship directly to that FFL, if that FFL will accept shipment from a private party.
