***Sorry this is so long - but I have a dilemma that needs some background)***
I'm getting rid of all my full sized pistols (except for my Colt 1911) because they all stay in safe. I just don't grab the big ones at all any more. I am starting to build a good set of Compacts and subcompacts that I really like and take to the range frequently. I'm a first time CCW holder after 23 years of living in Commifornia (and now living in NC), and I'm looking forward to figuring out my favorite carry pistol. So far I've already gotten rid of my G17 and G22, and I am getting rid of my last full-sized pistol, the Sig Sauer P226 Mk25 (with an 18 rd mag + 2 10 round Mags) with the SRT kit (Short Reset Trigger) and a new E2 grip installed (only about 500 rounds through it). The E2 grip really allows your hand to grab this big double stack really really well. Now I have a P220 Carry (awesome firearm), G19, a Kahr PM9 with laser, and a Sig 1911 Ultra Compact in 9mm. I want to add a double stack subcompact to the mix and was leaning towards a G26 5th Gen (great size), Sig P365, PPQ-SC, P320 Sub, XD-M Sub or any of the 3 HK's (P2000SK, P30SK or the VP9SK)
***I have an offer from a guy on Armslist to trade his new HK VP9SK, but he wants an even trade with no cash. I was expecting his offer to be his HK + a couple hundred $$$, but an even trade seems a little low. I imagine my P226 is worth about $850 as a used gun.
I'd like to hear your opinions on this.

Bad trade . New Mk25’s go for over a grand now . VP9SK is half that .
HK Specialist has new VP9SK’s for $519.99 .

BTW, his new HKVP9sk has Night Sights, and I'm seeing these around $725ish new at the local FFLs.

You should keep a full size pistol, but yeah that’s not a trade I would make. Put a light on the Sig and keep it ready on your night stand. Or like me, keep it in an old boot beside the bed.

I still have the Full sized Colt 1911, and I use the P220 Carry in night stand with light.

Save and buy the HK if you really want, but I’d not make that trade.

Never trade anything you describe as "awesome". You'll regret it down the road.

You won't be disappointed in the SK, mine has been great..... but that's a lopsided trade in his favor.

No way, that's a bad trade. If you no longer want the SIG, have patience and get what it's worth.

Ok guys, much appreciated. No trade. If he wants to throw in some cash, I'll reevaluate. Thanks for the comments.

    1) Bad trade. Don't do it.
    2) I've never met anyone who prefers to shoot subcompacts over full size guns. A pseudo compact like a G19 I can understand, but true small guns are generally not fun for most people. I'm just going to blame California on your behalf for this.

Innuendos aside, you never know if down the road you’ll once again want to shoot fulls size guns. Being you describe it as awesome, I’d hold onto it.

I’m no fan of that Sig, but don’t trade a $1000+ gun for a $600 gun.

    Pretty stupid...

It's not about price, try to sell a used 226 and you willl see, I will go for the trade, it will be easier to get rid of it, the VP9 is a great shooter.
I will stick with the G26.5

The point is that he’s in essence paying a grand for a VP9.

The VP9 is ok, but it’s not a USP we’re talking about. Not USP quality or even close.

I'd shy away from that deal. i recently picked up HK VP9SK and can tell you it's a great pistol, but I'm not sure it's good enough to trade even up for your Sig 226.
