Huh! Who would have guessed that French Canadians could party like it's NASCAR week in the Deep South? The race takes place at a town called Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce, in Quebec, Canada. This video is an hour long, so be advised: But here's a shorter 20-minute video: And, of course, what could be better than a little AC/DC mixed in with it? (EDIT: I can confirm that this truck, owned by Nicolas Gagnon, has over 2,500 HP from a Caterpillar Engine): http://www.livetrucking.com/peterbilt-truck-leaves-saleen-mustang-in-the-dust/ Look at the torque twist these trucks! I've heard some of these rigs have upwards of 2,400 horsepower, but I can't confirm that. If there's any Rig Heads on here who can confirm or deny that, please do. This race looks freaking AWESOME! Look at how close the rigs get to the crowd! Very exciting! I would love to go there sometime!
I'll admit, I like it. Loaded trailers making it a cross between tractor pulling and drag racing. No trailers, just drag racing ....they might be fast of they got down to 2500#, but the engine, trans, and rear end probably weigh more than that. The redneck in me approves, but they probably don't crash enough for the NASCAR crowd.
It's pretty bad ass, isn't it? I never thought of drag racing trucks when thinking of Canada. At all.
Agreed. And it's a win-win, because it's fun and it pisses off Liberals. Think about it: they hate racing, they hate freedom, and they hate exhaust-belching trucks (because, you know..."global warming"). I'm not a racing fan. Quite frankly, while I respect NASCAR and Top Fuel, I have absolutely zero interest in it whatsoever. BUT....if this pisses off a Liberal, I might have to rethink that.
Gotta love a Canadian who puts a Confederate Flag on his truck. It's like he's just TRYING to make Liberals cry!
they got the pumps on those motors JACKED! I drove a dump truck with a bit over 600 hp once. Amazingly fast for a truck! With a light load and 18 speeds it was quite fun. I skipped a lot of gears going through the box.
French Canadians are some of the 'neckest 'necks around. I party with them on the regular. Some of their women alone can out 'neck our hardiest of native swamp people and look good doing it. A lot of the French Canadians also come down here with a budget to back up their hobbies in spectacular fashion.
