I agree! The 1911 should really be number one. The list is okay (though the SIG 226 and Beretta 92FS should switch rankings, he he peace, flyboy1);f

Nice list, now I know which to choose from when it comes time to buy my 2nd unit.

No doubt the BOGs know their guns. All of these have once been mentioned as "favorites" by the BOGs.

Rather the HK P7 pattern than the FN Five Seven.

I'd push the 1911 way down, if at all being part of the top 10. It's dissapointing too that the author left out the Walther P99, Kahr MK9, the Rohrbaugh, SW 59 series, the HK P7, the P3AT, or even the humble Bersa thunder380. Two Sigs in that list calls for the inclusion of the USP9/40/P2000, the Glock 17 - 36, Walther P5, etc. etc., which would easily push out the FN, HS2000 and the BHP.

Not a list I could agree to. But this is only my own opinion.;T

    Ah, I forgot...

There should be at least a best pistol in the 22LR category, just so that cheap but effective training is also considered. A Ruger in 22LR with bull barrel would fit that category.

Which also brings to mind the 22LR high end pistols for the Olympiad. Truly a lot of pistols to consider. ;)

From the write-up on the 1911A1 (#1 on the list) :
"The 1911 is proven, reliable, and makes big .45 caliber holes in anything on the wrong side of the barrel."

"reliable" ? Oh, that's highly debatable. It's reliable "enough", but it's certainly not up to Glock or Sig reliability standards, especially out-of-the-box. Nah, the 1911 does not shine in the reliability department.

    It's a reliable design (1911)
    Yung manufacturers ang hindi reliable
