I bought a new 4th generation Glock 19 last week. I cleaned and lubed it then took it to the range yesterday -- and everything worked flawlessly!

I shot 175 rounds of 115 grain WWB from the three magazines that came with it, plus an older G19 and two 33 round magazines. Brass hit my head twice, but I think that they were ricochets off of the stall wall. I also shot 30 147 grain WWB hollow points without a hitch.

I did not use either of the back straps and really liked the feel of the grip, and I love the new mag release. All in all I am very happy with the new G19, and I really want to try out a Gen 4 G26 (my main carry gun is currently a Gen 3 G26).

Congrats! WWB hollow points? Never seen those before.

Congrats! I love my 19. Fun gun to shoot and great gun for work or CCW.

I bought some WWB 115 gr FMJs that came with a free sample of these WWB HPs. tnoutdoors9 did a ballistics test and they performed about as well as FMJs IIRC.

I am a newbie and just bought a Gen 4 Glock 19 as well. The guy at the store told me to shoot about 5 50-rd boxes through it before cleaning and lubing to let it break in.

I saw that you cleaned it before ever shooting. Did I get bad advice?

If you read in most firearm manuals, it says to clean and lube the firearm before you shoot it. Manufacturers put a preservation oil on the firearms to protect products that might sit on the shelf for a long time. You should clean the factory oil off of any new firearm and put on proper oil. Knowing that I just dropped $500 on a new Glock, this is what I would do. (It really should function just fine strait out of the box). Its up to you...

Glock says you should clean lube a new Glock before firing it, so that is what I have always done. Some people recommend otherwise, but I feel more comfortable following the manufactures recommended procedure.

How funny! I have the exact same set up as the OP: Gen4 19 and Gen3 26 as my EDC. I am also interested in the Gen4 26 but am wondering if it is different enough from the Gen3 to go to make the switch. Thoughts?

I took the G19 back to a range today and shot the following: 100 rounds Remington UMC 115gr, 100 rounds of Federal Champion 115gr, and another box of 50 WWB 115gr. Three of the Remington casings hit me in the face, which was a little annoying, but it shot flawlessly.
