My father called me up after I got home today from OT(SUCKED!) and explained he had some friends/business partners down from NY for the weekend and their golf game got rained out and If I could take them shooting......Sure!

It was a great time, I think I had more fun than they did and I didn't even shoot. I just get a smile from seeing others enjoy the sport. Five of them had never shot a firearm, let alone hold one. After a firearm safety briefing and weapon handling/mechanics we got busy. I started them out on .22lr and we worked our way right on up to 12G. I wanted to let em shoot the AR15, however, the range is new...like just opened last week(a mile from my house I might add:faint::tongueout:) and the rifle lanes werent done yet.

    Anyway...see thier reactions for yourself...:wavey:

You're a good man! I always enjoy taking newbies to the range as well. And I've managed to convert several of them into gun owners/shooters. No pressure, mind you. Just exposing them to the sport and enjoyment of firearms and the fact that they are not evil seems to be enough.

BTW - I'm taking good care of that Beretta M92 Target that you sold me. Still as pristine as the day I got it from you.

Is it me or is that range really short?
Nice to bring new people to the sport, they are usually hooked after first trips like that :wavey:

That is a great service you have done for the NY's and for us gun types. Good PR.

It looks like they had a great time! Thanks!

Being from NY...Id say that about 70% of the people I take shooting have never had any contact with firearms other than in LE holsters and that "scary redneck corner of Wal Mart" that they tend to avoid!

I have created many shooters out of skeptics by doing nothing more than spending an afternoon with them at the range.

Thanks again! I am sure they had a great time!

    Also...

What did you have for them to shoot? I can't identify the pistol at around the 2:00 to 2:30 mark...

I didn't watch the whole thing, but while none of them looked like Brian Enos, the guys I saw all looked like they shot before. Prior military?

To answer the above questions, no none of them have shot before. I gave them a 20min lesson on hand grip, sight picture, stance as well as safety, etc. They picked it up fast, i still had to correct the thumb behind the slide grip but after a while they picked it up, and I edited out all the improper grips, etc.

They were thrilled they were able to fire the sidearm used by NYPD, the G19(not in video)

Guns I brought that day that they shot are

    P22
    P22 OD green
    Beretta M92FS INOX
    G19
    HK USP 45 Tactical
    Remington 870 Police

They liked all of em, WITHOUT suppressors, lol. They wanted the flames and the bang.lol Funny, ask any experienced shooter and they would choose to shoot suppressed but the newbs want the bang.lol

Very cool. Maybe you converted all of them. They seemed to be enjoying themselves, just as they should. Good job. A day at the range beats a day on the links anyday.

Looks like they had a lot of fun. I love to take newbies shooting and introduce them to the guns in a positive way. Great job.

Good on you. Nothing like shooting to put a big, stupid grin on your face.

Thanks for introducing six new people to the sport!:thumbsup:

I watched a few minutes of the video. I saw a little flinching but nothing too bad - those guys seemed to do pretty well for first time shooters.

Does this mean you've recruited 6 more new citizens for Florida, where they can live the remainder of their lives free from anti-gun oppression?

    Good for you.
    Cool shooting.

IMO giving a new shooter a GOOD briefing is the key to them being able to shoot well right off the bat.
