Too many 'processes' ?

    I've been told that this is waayyyy too many. is there a way to find out what most of this stuff is, and wether I need it running or not?

    the mspaint at the top was running so I could save a screenshot.;)

    I've done the msconfig before, and only have about 10 on that list now.

    I'll do some searching on the others.

    I only have 3 on my list ... my antivirus/firewall and my hotsync manager.

    I've got exactly 39 processes running right now as well. Nothing to worry about unless your computer is 10 years old. Most of it looks like system processes, I wouldn't worry too much. You can download HijackThis to cut down unwanted startup items.
