In one of the early episodes of year 5, Lorraire gets tape put over her mouth and a phonebook placed against her chest.
She is shot through the phone book, she is not killed because the bullet doesn't make it through the phone book.

Question: What gun and caliber (and load?) was used? ... Was this
    realistic?

    Another question ....
    Starting from the first episode...
What are all the different types of guns used?

Vito shot Apriel Jr. with what looked like a Glock, which model?

    The phonebook load was a 40cal 165gr Win Silvertip backed by 5.232 grains of Win231. No wait. I think it's 5.233 grains.;Q

The Apriel shooting was a non-gun. Back in the day (2 years ago?) we had an in-depth thread on it on GNG. Slide never goes back. Muzzle flash funky. It's something the props dept made up. (See - that one I DO know the answer.)
