    Hey guys,
    since 1975 (!) I'm following TJW and became a die-hard fan.
I was lucky to buy all his records and his CD's also.
The last one: "Collected" is a three-times-topper!
Went a couple of times to see him perform life on stage: wonderlull Swamp music; the sound of the South.
The 28 of March he's coming to Antwerp (Belgium) and I will be present again!!!
Are there any fans of TJW on this forum?
Do you go to life performances?
Please let me know your personal ideas about him.
    Stay safe.

Love that growl in, "Polk Salad Annie".

Very nice looking man too, I always thought he was as
handsome as Elvis. I still listen to his music.
    Enjoy the show.

I listened to him way back and got reintroduced a couple years ago via a Rory Gallagher album from that time period in which Rory introduced a song as a TJW song. Then TJW up and "appeared" on the Johnny Cash TV Show (69-71 seasons) DVD set I recently bought. Small world.

Tony Joe White wrote the uber-classic "Rainy Night In Georgia"...

Oh yeah - The Swamp Fox.
Tony Joe White is nothing short of a musical genius in my book. Seen him live a couple of times, always great shows and gone out to eat with him a few times...not only a magnificent performer but a great guy.
Think he's in Europe on tour now, hope he tours back here in the States when he returns.

I don't think he's ever been up my way. I love his music. He's one of those guys that makes you wonder why he wasn't more popular.

Yes. A couple of times. A real down to earth guy. Gave me a couple of his demo tapes that were fabulous. I had an old original TJW show poster from the Fillmore that I gave him as he didn't have it. I asked him once how he played the guitar and harmonica together so effortlessly, he just replied in that great drawl of his "It's what I do". Tony Joe has, or at least he had, some land in north Arkansas he calls "Polk Salad Valley". His music is unique and never gets old.
