Gertie, our girbil, died, yesterday, of old age.
    She was four years old.
She was a good girbil and a good mother, who with her late mate, Girbie, raised nine pups.

    Rest in peace, Girtie

    She was special.
    She was a rescue girbil.
She had been attacked and beaten up pretty bad by the other girbils in the pet store. The Petsmart people removed her from the cage and were going to put her down. One of the employees had known we were looking for another a black Girbil and gave my wife a call, (This is the only time I can ever recall that the information that they ask you for at checkout was used for something good!!)and told us we could "adopt" her with no guarantee. We nursed her back to health, introduced her to Girbie and the rest is history!

    That's such a great story.
    :hugs:

You did a good thing for Girtie and she knew that.

I'm glad you were able to save Girtie, and that she had a nice, full life with you.

It's so very sad that we are destined to outlive our pets, who mean so very much to us, and add so much to our daily lives.
