    Texas Indepedence Day. :cowboy:

Those that are not blessed to live in the Republic, perhaps your independence will soon be forthcoming. However, though ye be free, you still ain't Texan.

Need some danged big barriers to the west and east, too.

My policy would for every honest feller or gal from one of the relatively free states we admit to the Republic, twelve Californians and fifteen danged Noooo Yaaaaaaaaawkers have to leave.

I give this about one page (or less) before it evolves into yet another "Texas is better than the rest of the country" threads...

We got the rest of y'all to pay off our debt, didn't we? :tongueout:

By the way, we aren't inclined to return the favor.

Now class ... can anyone tell me why the Republic of Texas was so much larger than the state of Texas? :headscratch: Or why the then Oklahoma territory has a panhandle? :headscratch: Or why Ohio and Michigan almost went to war? :headscratch:
