So a corporation can’t choose who’s banners they allow?

Growing up, the weird people in the neighborhood went to Costco. Now it seems the normal people I know go to Costco. But the stigma is still with me from when I was little and I'd see the weird people pulling the big boxes out of their weird cars. So, I never really took to the place myself.

    Sure they can.
And the customers can choose to spend their money elsewhere.

    (I've never been in Costco)

Maybe you are the fool for casting such a wide net.

If we boycotted everyone with whom we disagree, we might as well unplug the computer and never leave the house because you can find a reason to disagree with anyone if you are constantly searching for it. You also don't agree with your wife or mother on every issue, so you might as well cut them off too. You know, so you aren't foolish.

So individuals can't choose where they shop?

    This is still AMERICA.

A store can remove a banner if customers complain.

I'm proud to be a Costco member.......their service and products are the best.....bar none.

Oh, by all means do so.

But if you cry about their policies, I will generally laugh about your crying.

I poo pooed on the article when I read the little note at the bottom they think main stream media is out to get them. "Share this with all your FaceBook friends!" Seems legit.

I agree with you here, but the man has a right to his opinion; snowflake offense notwithstanding.

I don't understand this visceral reaction to boycotts on here. It's like folks are derided for choosing to vote with their money. It's an American right, you don't have to participate in it. People have their own reasons for doing what they do. More power to them and God Bless America!

(Full disclosure: My wife is on her way to Costco as I type this :D)

Costco can do what they please. I WAS a member of Costco since the early 90s, after learning that they were one of the largest contributors to the Obama campaign - my wife and I dropped our Costco membership and joined Sam's.

We have found the same items - except that we now buy Member's Marks TP & Paper Towels instead of Kirkland Brothers.

I try my hardest to not support those companies that align themselves with the LEE-BORE-ALS of this country.

    Well, that's a different tune.
With that, I can agree. Just like they have the right to cry, you have the right to laugh. Is this not a great country? :waving:

So Costco doesn't want to advertise Black Rifle.
Neither does any other grocery store I've ever seen.
Today their gas price here is $2.66 per gallon, what are you paying?

You do know that Wal-Mart and the Waltons contributed to Hillary right?

Sams(wal-mart) and Costco just different sides of the exact same coin.

    Thanks for the post OP.
Personally, I weigh the pros and cons of all this and have chosen to continue my Costco membership. The benefits outweigh the detriments.
They may do something in the future that will cause me to drop them, but for now; their actions are not egregious enough to make me leave.

Well......I, for one, would like to see this "Banner."

If it's a picture of a big black rifle they should have known customers would be complaining and no store anywhere would tolerate that.

    So where is the banner?

The rifle company should send the check back to Costco, tell them that they want to contribute it to the children's charity anyway. Or send it directly to the charity (which they may have done).

That would win them a good bit of support IMO.

I don't shop at Costco. The closest one is in Greenville and it is on Woodruff road - which is a nightmare.
