That is the question. This afternoon I found a nice Ruger Mk. II .22 LR pistol at a local gun shop for $275 cash, i.e., no credit card, no lay away. It is very clean, about 99% condition showing no evidence of being used. The emblem on the grips has the red not black background. AFAIK there is no box, etc. I know that if I can actually find one, a AA .22 LR top unit for my G-22 would be about the same money. I had been saving for the AA unit and hoping one day to find a nice Mk. II to replace one I had when a student in seminary. Now this one pops up. To say I am in a quandary as to what to do is putting it mildly. I have not seen a MK. II in such good condition at such a price. I do not currently have a line on a AA unit. What do ya'll think? Suggestions/opinions appreciated. Sincerely. Brucev.

I apologize. Today I have made two errors: (1) I posted this on the wrong forum and (2) I failed to buy the pistol when I saw it. When I went back it was gone. I just couldn't cover the 42 miles fast enough. Sorry for the mistake. Sincerely. Brucev.

Sorry to hear about this. The Mark II is my favorite .22 pistol. Hopefully you will find another.

The pistol I saw was the one in the bottom picture. Years ago while a student in seminary I bought a Mk. II because I was just about to go ape crazy to learn to shoot. Over the years I moved on to heavier caliber handguns, etc. I would very much like to be able to again have a Mk. II like the one that I once owned and so much enjoyed shooting. I will have to keep looking. I have money saved. It is just a matter of finding one that is nice. Sincerely. Brucev.
