10.5 M4 in the car at all times now. You never know when something will pop off. Not playing around nowadays.

Yeah, we already have you down as a no from the previous multiple bumps. I wouldn't say a 480 post thread has flopped, maybe for you, but looks like a lot of people are interested in talking about it. In light of everything going on now, it seems more relevant than ever.

Can't say how many more times I'll bump it in the future. As many times as I feel it's appropriate. Is there a way to put threads on ignore in here? If so, maybe you should do that.

Hopefully some ear muffs too, my ears are still ringing after a plug slipped out shooting one of those years back.

Years of playing guitar and going to metal concerts have made me immune.

I actually do keep something similar to these around my gearshift all the time.

They wouldn't help much, but better than nothing and I can put them on in like 2 seconds. The ones I use for shooting are electronic, and much better, but again, these are better than nothing.

I have a few pairs of the electronic impact sports. Great muffs! Guns are loud, but AR’s are pretty brutal outside let alone in your house. Obviously I’ve never shot one in a house but the plywood stall walls at the range are enough. The short ass pistol ones are even worse imo.

I’ll take a 9, 45 or shotgun over a AR inside any day.

Why do you want it to die so badly? Can't other people get information from this, even if you no longer can? Don't be selfish.

I am considering a 7.62x39 ar pistol for this exact use. I have flip down rear seats so I can have access from inside the car.

How could you take it as anything but a flop?

In 4 years and 480+ posts, not a single legitimate scenario for the use of a civilian truck gun has been identified.

But in that same time period, thousands have been stolen.......

Your own thread has done more to prove them to be fantasy idea than useful idea.

Yeah, My AR pistol is 10.5inch chambered in 300 AAC, very loud. Shooting it from inside the car would suck, but as always, better to have and not need. Plus I might not actually be inside when I shoot it. I'm still not taking it with me, other than once or twice.

Since all of these riots started I've been taking my G20 along with my EDC G26. I holster it in a Miami Classic shoulder rig which has a double mag carrier, put it in a Walmart bag and lay it in my passenger seat. Sometimes I'll go ahead and wear it under an oversize button up shirt. My G26 rides between my seat and my console in a DeSantis Superfly.

The G20 is about as close as I can get to the equivalent of the AR pistol in a handgun, and is probably adequate.

Man, all you have to do is ignore the thread if it's bothering you. Or if you want to keep contributing to it by bashing the whole idea, keep doing that I guess. I don't know what to tell you, other than you are obviously a no on the need for a truck gun and your no is duly noted.

I’m just curious why you keep bumping, and seem stuck on what has been shown to be such a poor idea?

This is the first time this thread has been bumped in 3 years.
People all across the country are being attacked by mobs of rioters.
People want to have the ability to defend themselves.
Most think their normal carry gun might not be enough.

I do respect and welcome your opinion, I've been here long enough to know you have experience most of us don't have. I'm not even saying you're wrong. But why shouldn't people be able to discuss it, and why does it piss you off so much that I've bumped the thread a couple of times over the course of 4 years? Would it be better if I started a new thread instead?

Just trying to figure out why you're pissed, and what you want me to do about it. What do you think people should do to up their protection level since it's often, even usually mobs attacking now?

You have multiple problems with your post.

Firstly, I’m not upset, or pissed off, or even annoyed. I’m actually amused.

Secondly who are these “most” who think a carry gun isn’t enough?

I can do a fair job at 100 yards with my G34. Keep some 33 rounders in the truck.

Was thinking of one of those snap on arm braces, if they are still legal.

    Also have a Mech-Tech.

Keep whatever makes you feel comfortable and secure. I used to carry a 5 round snubbie. I changed to an 8 round semi. Recently I changed again to an 11 round Glock 26. I feel comfortable with the Glock on my belt even with all that is going on in our crazy nation.
