This article lays out an excellent case for eliminating the salaries of government officials involved in lockdown decision making.

In addition to being a good idea for the reasons the author mentions, it will save state and local governments some cash. So they should like that, right? Lol

Honestly a lot of these politicians are so crooked, they’re millionaires and that probably wouldn’t hurt them. They can live off their insider trading.

They probably wouldn’t notice. Graft and corruption pay better, anyway.

I am not sure about no pay for the ones still working, but a substantial payout, maybe 25% like many companies hurting but still running some people. Or mayBe to about 48k, so unemployment plus the $600 a week might make it more financially advantageous to actually be laid off or “furloughed”.

Same should voluntarily be done by all those still getting paid saying we should keep the shutdown going longer. They should donating it to a charity that is helping those hurt by the shutdown. It is easy to advocate that only makes others to sacrifice.
